In figure 1,

First of all rearrange this figure, like as in attachment, now lets solve it.

= 3 + 3 in parralel to 6

= 6 parralel to 6

1/R = 1/6 + 1/6

1/R = 2/6 = 1/3

R = 3 ohm

Now again, 3 + 3 in parralel to 6

= 6 parralel to 6

1/R = 1/6 + 1/6

1/R = 2/6 = 1/3

R = 3 ohm

Now, 3 + 3 parralel to 3

= 6 parralel to 3

1/R = 1/6 + 1/3

1/R = 1+2/6

1/R = 3/6 = 1/2

R = 2 ohm is the equivalent resistence.

In figure 2,

First of all rearrange this figure, like as in attachment, now lets solve it.

= 3 parralel to 6

1/R = 1/6 + 1/3

1/R = 1+2/6

1/R = 3/6 = 1/2

R = 2

Now, 2 is in series with 8

R = 2 + 8 = 10 ohm

atlast, 10 ohm is parallel to 30

1/R = 1/10 + 1/30

1/R = 3 + 1/30

1/R = 4/30 = 2/15

R = 15/2 or 7.5 ohm is the equivalent resistence.
