z - 1/z = 4 [given ]
•°• (z - 1/z )² = z² + 1/z² - 2×z×1/z
(z - 1/z )² + 2 = z² + 1/z²
4² + 2 = z² + 1/z² [given ]
16 + 2 = z² + 1/z²
18 = z² + 1/z²
hence , z² + 1/z² = 18
