Dear Rae,
Hope you and your friends are doing well. I'm writing to you to apologize for not being able to visit you for dinner yesterday. As much as I wanted to attend the housewarming dinner, I couldn't do so due to the sudden errands assigned to me by my boss.
I do realize I should've informed you beforehand that I was busy, but amid all the work, I was stressed out and completely forgot about the dinner invitation. I considered getting help from someone, but everyone else was already way occupied to help me out. Once I was done running errands I had to attend a couple of meetings online. When that was done, I had to bring back Chase and Masha from the vet since they were ready for pick up. Exhausted and drained from all of this, I directly went to bed to get some rest.
Once again, I'm sorry that everyone at dinner had to wait for me, and sorry that I wasn't able to get back to anyone who had given me a ring. To make up for it, I've sent you the gift I planned on giving you along with the letter, and I'll drop you a visit as soon as I'm relieved of all the work I've been given. Congrats on your move to a new place, wish you'll have a blast there!
