Fluid :- Substance which can able to flow is called fluid.

Or, the substance which can't resist the shearing force acting on it(i.e it's shear modules is zero ) is called fluid.

example :- liquid and gasses .

We usually use ideal fluid in many cases,

Ideal(imaginary) fluid :- the fluid which can't compressible and non - viscous (means he particular talking about liquid because gas are compressible).

Substance :-

A particular kind of matter with uniform properties.

example :- copper rod , fluid , gold , table
