A few years passed and the peasant was on his deathbed, surrounded by his weeping sons. He told them a story of a treasure hidden in the nearby fields, and insisted that they search for it. A few hours later, he passed away.

His sons got up bright and early the next day, and began to dig the field. It took them many days, and when they were finally done...there was no treasure! No gold...no jewels...just plain old dirt!

Soon spring had sprung, and the young men woke up to find that those very fields were full of golden corn! A very fine crop! The sons learnt that those who work hard will reap great rewards!
