If a^n = b^n, that is, indices are same but bases are different.

but a is not equal to b, then n=0.

because anything raised to power 0 is one.

Let's take an example

3 {}^{x}  = 4 {}^{x}

then, the equation will only be correct if x=0, so that 3^0 will be 1 and 4^0 will be also 1.

1=1.
