Answer:

x

x =  - 2 \\ y = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

FIRST WE MULTIPLY EQN 1 WITH 5 AND EQN2 WITH 3

SO EQN 1 WILL BE

10x + 15y = 25

Eqn 2 will be

12x + 15y = 21

EQN 2-EQN1

2x =  - 4 \\ x =  - 2

and y will be

Given :

➠ 2x + 3y = 5 ....... (i)

➠ 4x + 5y = 7 ........(ii)

To find :

The value of x and y.

Solution :

Mutiplying equation (i) by 4

Mutiplying equation (i) by 4 And equation (ii) by 2

We will get :

Equation (i) as :

= 4(2x + 3y = 5)

= 8x + 12y = 10 ......(i)

And, also

Equation (ii) as :

= 2(4x + 5y = 7)

= 8x + 10y = 14 ......(ii)

Procedure :

Subtraction of both the equation as follows :

 \cancel{8x} + 12y = 10 \\  { \underline{ \cancel{- 8x}  - 10y =  - 14}} \\  \implies 2y =  - 4 \\  \implies \: y =  \frac{ \cancel{ - 4}}{ \cancel2}  \\  \to y =  - 2
