When Helen withdrew from the school studies she started taking tuitions by Mr. Kieth twice a week and that included Algebra, Geometry, Greek, and Latin but later she changed it to taking the classes five times a week.
Helen thought of his tutor as someone who is very gentle because he was always very patient with Helen, he gave time to her without even keeping a track of how much time he gave to her, and if she couldn't understand a certain concept he would explain it again and again.
And with the description which Helen gave of Mr. Keith, it gives the reader an impression that he was a well-educated man and who had a lot of patience while teaching and he knew how to make students understand even the most toughest concepts.
