1. Answer: It was awfully funny to read words that stood still instead of moving the way they were supposed to on a screen. When Tommy and Margie turned back to the page before, it had the same words on it that it had had when they read it the first time. The children found it funny as it was different from what they were used to seeing on a screen.
2. Answer: Margie had always hated school, but she had started hating it more than ever. The mechanical teacher had been giving her test after test in geography and she had been doing worse and worse. Finally, her mother had sent for the County Inspector as this was rather frustrating.
3. Answer: The complication was that the geography sector was geared a little too quick. It happened sometimes and the inspector had slowed it down to to an average ten-year level.
4. Answer: He refers to the country inspector and 'it' refers to Margie's mechanical teacher. Margie did not want it to be put together because it gave her tests to solve for which she had to spend long hours solving them by punching the answers and the mechanical teacher would calculate the score in no time.
