Given that By selling 12 oranges for a rupee, a man loses 20%.
We know that cost price = 100/(100 - Loss%) * SP
= 100/(100 - 20) * 1
= 100/80 * 1
= 1.25 rupees.
Given New selling price of an orange is 120% of CP.
= 120/100 * 1.25
= 1.5 rupees.
If 12 oranges sold for 1 rupees.
So, for 1 rupee he must sell = 1/1.5 * 12
= 8.
Therefore for one rupee, he should sell 8 oranges.
Hope this helps!
