Take an onion peel from the concave side of the onion bulb.cut the peel into two rectangular pieces .put one of the pieces into dilute dugar solution (less amount of sugar) and other into concentrated sugar solution .observe it after 15-20 minutes .Record your observations and draw suitable diagram in both cases and state the reasons

Dilute sugar solution is hypertonic..so onion cell swells up during endosmosis and concentrated sugar solution is hypotonic so cell shrinks due to exosmosis
