4x²-3x-1=0

by splitting middle term,

product= -4

sum = -3

4x²-4x+1x-1=0

4x(x-1)+1(x-1)=0

(4x+1)(x-1)=0

hence, x= -1/4, 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given Equation is 4x² - 3x - 1 = 0

It can be written as,

⇒ 4x² - (4 - 1)x - 1 = 0

⇒ 4x² - 4x - x - 1 = 0

⇒ 4x(x - 1) + (x - 1) = 0

⇒ (4x + 1)(x - 1) = 0

x = -1/4, 1

Hope it helps!
