Plz help me i am not able to clear my doubt.
If a electron transmits from 1s to 2s then there will be a spherical node in between and it would have to cross it in order to reach 2s so there will be some probability of finding electron density at node also but if we see graph then there the electron density is 0 at node. How is it possible??

Answer:electron cannot undergo transition from 1s to 2s
Explanation:
The electrons gain or lose energy and undergo transition from 1 level to another level of COMPARABLE energy. The energy difference between 1s and 2s is large and so it is impossible. Besides there is no need for any atom even at the beginning of the periodic table to undergo transition from 1s to 2s as they get stabilised by losing electron (Li) or sharing electron (H). All the higher elements have full filled 1s and 2s and they never change.
