Difference- 1. Define  2. cause


Hazard


1. A hazard is something which could be dangerous to you, your health or safety


2.A hazard is something that can cause harm, e.g. electricity, chemicals, working up a ladder, noise, a keyboard, a bully at work, stress, etc.


Disaster

1.
A disaster is a sudden, calamitous event that seriously disrupts the functioning of a community

Those caused by movements of the Earth. These occur with the minimum amount of warning and include earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis.

Mitigation

1.
Mitigation is the effort to reduce loss of life and property by lessening the impact of disasters.

2.
Shallow erosion or reduction of shear strength caused by seasonal rainfall, landslides may be triggered by anthropic activities, such as adding excessive weight above the slope, digging at mid-slope or at the foot of the slope.
