For this, we need to recall a property that if a line is drawn parallel to a side of a traingle, it divides the remaining two sides in the same ratio.

Now in triangle BAE, DF||AE

hence, BF/FE= DE/EA (using above property)-----eqn 1

Again in triangle BAC, DE|| AC

hence BE/EC= DE/EA------- eqn 2

from eqn 1 and 2, we have

BF/FE=BE/EC..proved
