Distance covered = 24 km

Petrol used = 1.5 litres

Now, petrol used = 1 liter

Let distance travelled in 1 ltr petrol = x

This is a case of direct variation.

So, 24/1.5= x/1

1.5 x = 24

x = 24/1.5

= 16

So distance travelled in 1 ltr of petrol is 16 km.
