Answer:

A) the cost of each notebook is $2.75 and cost of each pen is $1.1

B) in $22 she can buy 3 notebooks

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A)

Let the cost of each notebook is $x

Let the cost of each pen is $y

hence,

3x + 2y = 10.45.................eqn1

4x + 6y = 17.6...................eqn2

solving both eqn1 and eqn2 we get,

x = 2.75 and y = 1.1

hence the cost of each notebook is $2.75 and cost of each pen is $1.1

Part B)

For 1 notebook she has to buy 3 pen

=> cost of set of 1 notebook and 3 pen = 2.75 + 3 x 1.1 = 6.05

Hence in $22 she can buy

= 22/6.05

= 3.636

≅ 3 sets of notebook and pens.

Hence in $22 she can buy 3 notebooks.
