Answer:

69.498 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of shaded region

area of a circle

formula :

\pi r^{2}

since the diameter is 18. we can find the radius by:

radius = diameter/2

radius = 18/2

radius = 9

now make use of the formula:

since \pi = 3.142

= 3.142 * (9)^2

=254.502 cm^2

area of the square

all sides are equal for a square ( all lengths are the same)

square formula:

length * width

= 18 * 18

=324 cm^2

area of shaded region

=  area of square  - area of circle

= 324 - 254.502

= 69.498 cm^2

the area of shaded region is 69.498 cm^2

The following sum is of class 10th standard.

CONCEPT:-

It is just substracting the total area from little one.

QUESTION:-

Find the area of shaded part.

SOLUTION:-

Area of square:- a²

where;

'a' is side of Sqaure.

Now,

Area = 18x18

=> 324cm²

And the area of circle= πr²

So,

radius= 18/2=9cm

so,

Area= 3.14x 9x9

=> 28. 2 6 x9cm²

=> 254.34cm²

So,

substracting the area of sqaure by circle gives.

=> (324-254.34)cm2

=>69.66cm²

So,

the are Of shaded region js 69.66cm²

ans.
