initial speed ,u=90km/h =90 x1000/3600 m/s

=25m/s

final speed ,v = 0m/s

uniform acceleration ,a= -0.5m/s^2

using equation of motion : v2= u2+2as

0=25^2 + 2x(-0.5)xs

s=distance =625m

Explanation:

Initial velocity, u = 90 km/hr 90*5/18 = 25 m/sec

Final velocity, v= 0 ( as brakes are applied)

Acceleration, a = -0.5m/second square

From third equation of motion:

2as = v square-u square

2*(-0.5)s = 0 square - 25 square

-s = -625

minus minus will cancel each other

s = 625m
