Answer:

9/x-4/y=8

8*x*y=9-4

8xy=5

xy=5/8

13/x+7/y=10

10*x*y=13+7

10xy=20

xy=2

9/x - 4/y= 8 -------> 1

13/x + 7/y = 10 ---> 2

1/x = p, 1/y = q

9p - 4q = 8 -----> 3

13p + 7q = 10 --> 4

solve both the equations by elimination method

eq13× 7 and eq4 × 4

63p - 28q = 56 -----> 5

52p + 28q = 40 ----> 6

add both the equations eq5 and eq6

115p = 96

p = 96/115

substitute the value of p in eq3 or eq4

9(96/115) - 4(q) = 8

q = -14/115

1/x = p

x = 115/96

1/y = q

y = -115/14

Check:-

substitute the value of x and y in eq1 or eq2

or

substitute the value of p and q in eq3 or eq4

9(96/115) - 4(-14/115) = 8

864 + 56 = 8 × 115

920 = 920

LHS = RHS
