The Immortal Soul - Vajpayee

Being a spellbound orator, a voracious reader, an expressive poet, a true statesman, a man who walks towards his selfless dreams and finally becoming the most efficient and respected person, is an all-time tough task, but not an impossible one. Proof? ‘Atal Bihari Vajpayee’, the man who had the power to leave no stone left unturned.

The noble man and thrice elected PM, Vajpayee, believes that the position shouldn’t be an ornament, but a responsibility. It shouldn’t be an honor, but a test and definitely, not glory, but a challenge. The Bharat Ratna awardee undoubtedly shaped the country’s economy, greatly, despite of Kargil conflicts, oil crises, devastating earthquakes and cyclones proving us that if one’s mind was determined to complete a work, no large hurdle can stop your zeal or no small stone can make you stumble.

This first non-congress full term worked Prime Minister, made India step towards a new era, by approving and inaugurating the Metro Train in Delhi. He is the man behind the Telecom’s success story through his idea of replacing fixed license fees with a revenue sharing arrangement. “The Golden Quadrilateral and the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna” was a network of highways that connected the four metro cities- Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata, is the most memorable achievement of him.

The brave soul got a phone call from America during Kargil war, at night, advising him to give Kashmir to Paksitan, else Pakistan will be going to launch a nuclear bomb on India. He replied, “I have already considered that 50% of India has been wiped off but I can assure you, there would be no sign of Pakistan on Word Map by tomorrow morning” and hanged up. Bravo! Isn’t it? A Fear can’t make a solution than messing up the things more, but a determination with a tinge of bravery can brings you anything you want. “O Lord! Never lift me up to such a mighty height as to make me forget to embrace my fellow-beings,” Isn’t he a true humanitarian and sensitive, pure soul? Yes, but only for his people and that ‘his people’ includes you too.

The giant man was compassionate to the core, generous in spirit, warm beyond measure and kind to a fault. He proved himself as a wordsmith of India through his powerful bullets of words. “Our aim may be as high as the endless sky, but we should have a resolve in our minds to walk ahead, hand-in-hand, for victory will be ours,” these words just leaves a great grade in one’s life. So he followed and achieved what he dreamt. This selfless creature’s wordings, “I would like that no citizen of the state feels alone and helpless. The entire nation is with them”, “If India is not secular, then India is not India at all”, tells one how deeply he was connected to his country and his people. May be that’s the reason his birthday, ‘25th of December’, is going to be treated as a ‘Good Governance Day’ from this year.

It’s sad to hear that this spotless meticulous mighty man is no more here to guide us. But as we know how intelligent he is, he left his body by filling his soul in his inspiring wordings. Is he dead? Nope! Alive in his words. So, let’s perform our duties towards the country accordingly his words and prove that we are his images, but not some spoilt brats. May the bravest soul Rest in Peace!

Everything is at stake, there’s no option to stop now

We can break at this point, but we cannot bend now!

What is the age of death? Not even a couple of moments

Life is a progression, it’s not a matter of a day or two!

- Atal Bihari Vajpayee
