on opening the brackets we get ,

8y-2y-10=10y-30

6y-10=10y-30

6y-10y=-30+10

-4y=-20

y=-20/-4 (the minus and minus signs get cancelled )

y=5

now substitute the value of y in the eq

40-2(5+5)=5(2x5-6)

40-2(10)=5(4)

40-20=20

20=20

hence lhs=rhs

hope this answer helps u

Hey mate!☺
Here's your answer...!

8y-2y-10 = 10y-30
6y-10 = 10y-30
6y-10y = -30+10
-4y = -20
y = 5

Verification :)
LHS___

8y-2(y+5) = 8*5-2(5+5)
40-2*10
40-20
20

RHS___

5(2y-6) = 5(2*5-6)
5*4 = 20

Hence LHS = RHS

Hope this helps..!!❤
