To solve this we will use cross multiplication.

(i) from the given information you can set up an equation and solve for x.

The format is  \frac{VAT+100}{Bill Ammount} =   \frac{100}{Original Price}

So when we input the given information, the equation will look like this  \frac{101}{10100} = \frac{100}{x}

From there, we cross multiply (Which is multiplying the denominators to their respective opposite side of the equals sign.

This will leave us with 1010000 = 101x

Lastly, we divide each side by 101 to isolate the x.

This gives us x = 10000 which is the answer

(ii) By following the same process, we end up with the equation  \frac{105}{2940} = \frac{100}{x}

By cross multiplying, we end up with 105x = 294000

Lastly, we divide each side by 105 to isolate the x which gives us x = 2800 as the answer

(iii) We again set up the equation the same way which gives us  \frac{114.5}{229} = \frac{100}{x}

We then cross multiply and get 114.5x = 229000

And Lastly, we divide each side by 114.5 which gives us an answer of x = 200
