Let the number of correctly answered questions be x.

Given that Total number of questions asked in a test = 48.

Then the number of incorrectly answered Questions = (48 - x).

Given that Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark, each wrong answer 1/2 marks are deducted. A student gets 21 marks and he attempted all questions.

= > x - 1/2(48 - x) = 21

= > 2x - 48 + x = 21 * 2

= > 3x - 48 = 42

= > 3x = 90

= > x = 30.

Now,

= > 48 - x

= > 48 - 30

= > 18.

Therefore the number of questions he answered correctly = 30.

Therefore the number of questions he answered incorrectly = 18.

Hope this helps!
