x⁴ + 1/x⁴ = 194

( x² )² + ( 1/x² )² + 2 = 194 + 2

( x² + 1/x² )² = 196

x² + 1/x² = √ 196

x² + 1/x² = 14 ----( 1 )

x² + 1/x² + 2 = 14 + 2

( x + 1/x )² = 16

x + 1/x = √ 16

x + 1/x = 4 ---( 1 )

( x - 1/x )² = ( x + 1/x )² - 4

= 4² - 4

= 12

x - 1/x = √ 12

x - 1/x = 2√3 ----( 2 )

Now ,

x³ - 1/x³ = ( x - 1/x )³ - 3( x - 1/x )

= ( 2√3 )³ - 3 × 2√3

= 24√3 - 6√3

= 18√6 --( 3 )

x³ + 1/x³ = ( x + 1/x )³ + 3( x + 1/x )

= 4³ + 3 × 4

= 64 + 12

= 76
