Given

larger angle is 36 more than smaller

let smaller angle=x

then larger angle=x+36

they are supplrmentary angles then(x)+(x+36)=180

2x=180-36

2x=144

x=144/2

x=72

therefore small angle=72

then large angle=x+36=72+36=108

\underline{\underline{\bold{Question:}}}

Among two supplementary angles , the measure of the larger angle is 36° more than the measure of the smaller angle . Find their measures .

\tt{Solution:}

Supplementary Angle :

  • When the sum of the angles is 180° , then the two angles are called supplementary angles.

Let the measure of the smaller angle be x°.

So the measure of the larger one = ( 180 - x )°.

According to question

The measure of the larger angle is 36° more than the measure of the smaller angle.

\implies\bold{x+36=180-x}\\\\\\\implies\bold{x+x=180-36}\\\\\\\implies\bold{2x=144}\\\\\\\implies\bold{x=\dfrac{144}{2}=72.}

Their measure :

  • Smaller angle = x° = 72°.
  • Larger angle = (180-x)° = 180 - 72 = 108.
