so

a. P=1,200W=1.2kW

  t=4hrs

  so

  P=energy(electric energy)/t

  Pt=energy

  energy=1.2x4=4.8kWh

  so

  units(kWh)x8=total cost=4.8x8=38.4rupees

  since its for whole month=31x38.4=1190.4

b. P=500W=0.5kWh

   t=12hrs

   Pt=energy=0.5x12=6kWh

   total cost=6x8=48rupees

   whole month cost=31x48=1488rupees
