3) The factors that promoted the trade and commerce during the medieval period were:-The growth of the rural grain markets led to the rise of small townships(or qasbas). The demand for all types of luxury goods by the nobles led to the expansion of handicraft production as well as the growth of towns.

4) Hampi is an ancient village located near the Banks of Tungabhandra that has remained important for its variety of religious and secular structures. In the epic Ramayana, it is identified as Kishkinda. Hampi remained in central importance in the medieval times as the second capital of the Vijayanagara Empire.

5) Masulipatnam literally means first port town. It was a centre of intense activity in the 17th century. Since it soon became the most important port of Andhra pradesh during its development in medieval period, hence both the Dutch and the english east indian companies is attempted to control it.
