Answer:

for 1st fig....

ar of shaded region = ar of sq - 2 (area of semicircle)

I. e. 16×16-2(22/7×8×8)/2 = 16×16 -402.28/2 = 54.86 answer

and for 2nd fig. ar of shaded region = (3.5×4.6)+11×3.4 = 53.5 answer.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:16\times 16=256

In figure (e):

two semicircles are there which are not shaded.

so we will subtract are of that circle from area of square

area of square =16\times 16=256 sq. cm.

area of circle with diameter 16cm=\pi \times (\frac{16}{2})^{2}=201.06 sq.cm.

so shaded area= 256-201.06

                         =54.93sq.cm.

in figure (f)

cut the given figure in upper rectangle and lower rectangle.

upper rectangle has lenght=4.6cm and breadth =3.5 cm

so area= length * breadth

            =4.6\times  3.5=16.1 sq. cm.

lower rectangle has length =3.8+3.5+3.7=11cm

and breadth =3.4cm

so area of lower rectangle=3.4\times  11= 37.4 sq.cm.

total area of shaded portion = 37.4+16.1

                                               =53.5 sq.cm.
