then by above

then by adding all sum of pages = 300 (given above)


so

$x + \frac{x}{2} + \frac{x}{4} + \frac{x}{8} = 300 \\ \\ \frac{8x + 4x + 2x + x}{8} = 300 \\ \\ = > \frac{15x}{8} = 300 \\ \\ = > 15x = 2400 \\ \\ = > x = \frac{2400}{15} \\ \\ = > x = 160$
therefore he rode 160 pages in day one/first day
