to find value of

1/α + 1/ β

so

equation is

x^2 + x - 2 = 0

Then we know that

α + β = -b / a

α + β = - ( x) / x^2. ( -1/x = 1) ( square of x divide)

α + β = -1


α * β = c/ a

α* β = -2 /1

α* β = -2



to find 1/ α + 1/β


β + α / α* β

= -1 / -2. ( minus will be cancel)


so the answer is 1/2
