Principal= ₹24000

Rate of interest = 20 paisa a rupee p.a. i.e. 20÷100 p.a. = 1÷5 p.a. T=6months=2 quarters

Now amount = P(1+R÷100)^n

implies that ₹24000(1+1÷20)^2

implies that ₹24000(20+1÷20)^2

implies that ₹24000(21÷20)^2

implies that ₹24000×21÷20×21÷20=₹26460(ans1)

Now C.I. = amount -principal

=₹26460-₹24000=₹2460(ans2)
