We know that Graphite is made up entirely with Carbon Atoms.

We also know that Each Carbon atom has :

  • 6 Electrons
  • 6 Protons
  • 6 Neutrons

Neglecting the Mass of Electrons as they have Negligible Mass.

⇒ The Carbon Atom mass is due to 6 Protons and 6 Neutrons.

We know that Each Proton Weighs : 1.67 × 10⁻²⁷ kg and Neutrons mass is Approximately Equal to Proton.

⇒ Each Carbon Atom weighs : 12 × 1.67 × 10⁻²⁷ = 2 × 10⁻²⁶ kg

⇒ Each Carbon Atom weighs : 12 × 1.67 × 10⁻²⁷ = 2 × 10⁻²³ grams

⇒ Given Mass of the Dot : 10⁻¹⁸ grams

⇒ Number of Atoms (Carbon) in Each Black Dot = \frac{10^-^1^8}{2\times10^-^2^3}

⇒ Number of Atoms (Carbon) in Each Black Dot = 0.5 × 10⁵

⇒ Number of Atoms (Carbon) in Each Black Dot = 5 × 10⁴
