let unit place digit be x.

therefore, tens place digit= y

and hundreds place digit = z

1. According to the question,

new no. - original no. = 36

or, (100z +10y +x ) - (100z+10x+y) = 36

or, 9(y - x) = 36

or, y - x = 4. ..........(i)

2. ATQ, original no. - new no. = 198

or, (100z+10y+x) - (100x +10y +z) = 198

or, 99 ( z - x ) = 198

or, z - x = 2. ..........(ii)

Subtract equation (i) from (ii) , we get,

(z-x) - (y-x) =2-4

or, z - y= -2

3. original no. - new no. = 9k

or, (100z +10y +x) - (100y + 10z + x) =9k

or, 90 (z-y) =9k

or, k = 90(-2)/9 = -20 (Ans)
