Area of square courtyard = 59

side of square courtyard = √59 = 7.67

Area of square + path = 59 +120= 179

side of square + path = √179 = 13.4

7.67 + 2x = 13.4

2x = 5.73

x = 2.865

so width = 2.865

Hello Mate!

Since we know that,

Area of outer Park - area of inner park = area of path.

Area of inner park = 59 m²

Area of outer park - 59 = 120 m²

Area of outer park = 120 + 59

Area of outer Park = 179 m² _(i)

In Inner Park,

Length = breadth .

Side² = 179 m²

Side = 13.4 m

In outer Park,

Length = breadth

Side² = 59 m²

Side = 7.7 m

Since we know that,

Outer length = inner length + 2( width )

Let the width be x,

13.4 m = 7.7 m + 2x

5.7 m = 2x

2.85 m = width.
