solved by comparison method and your ans is x=6 and y= 5.

i solved this by comparing y function.

Your answer is :-

x + y = 11 .... (1)

y + 2 = 1/8(10y+x)

= (y + 2)8= 10y+x

= 8y+16=10y+x

= 2y+x = 16

subtract 5 both side

2y+x -5 = 11....(2)

from 1 & 2

2y+x-5 = x+y

= y = 5

put this value in equation (1)

x + 5 = 11

=> x = 6
