Take an example of Mahabharat... In that, when the Pandavas met Kauravas (both brothers) in their childhood for the first time in their lives, they (Pandavas) spoke softly with their 100 brothers (Kauravas).. But because of trusting Shakuni, the Kauravas spoke harshly to the Pandavas...

Secondly, when the Pandavas fed food to their brothers Kauravas with their own hands, Kauravas just ate the food (they took advantage)

but didn't feed the Pandavas...
