Answer:

Given:

2 open organ pipes have been sounded together. The lengths of the organ pipes are 75 cm and 80 cm.

To find:

Beats produced .

Calculation:

First we need to find the frequency of each of the organ pipes .

In 1st case :

λ/2 = 0.75

=> λ = 1.5 metres

Freq.1 = Velocity/wavelength

=> Freq.1 = 332/1.5

=> Freq.1 = 221.33 Hz

For 2nd case:

λ/2 = 0.80

=> λ = 1.6 metres

Freq.2 = Velocity/Wavelength

=> Freq.2 = 332/1.6

=> Freq.2 = 207.5 Hz.

So the number of beats are

= Freq.1 - Freq.2

= 221 - 207

= 14 Hz

So the answer is 14 Hz.
