Method 1. If it is given that a and b are rational number than an irrational number between them will be √ab.

For example

An irrational number between 2 and 3 will √6

Method 2.

Square the given numbers and then root of all the numbers except perfect square will an irrational number.

For example. 2 and 3

We can write,

2 =  \sqrt{4}  \: and \: 3 =  \sqrt{9}

Then,

 \sqrt{5} , \: \:  \sqrt{6}  \:  \:  \: , \: \: \:  \sqrt{7}  \:  \: , \: \:  \sqrt{8} \:  will \: irratonal \: number
