Hydronium ion is formed beacuse of H+ from acid and water if acid is dilute then it will break into H20 and H+

Dilution is the process of mixing an acid or a base in water

This process generally decreases the no. of h3o+/oh- ions per unit volume

Hence,when an acid is diluted the number of h3o+ ions decrease per unit volume and increases its pH
