When an object falls freely under the effect of gravity , it is known as Free Fall.
here, u=49m/s
v=0m/s
a = -9.8m/s^2
a) using, 2as =v^2-u^2
s= v^2 -u^2÷2a
s= 0-49×49÷-2×9.8
s= 122.5 m
Height=122.5 m
b) using, v= u + at
we get, t= v-u ÷a
t=0-49÷-9.8
t= 5 sec.
That is time taken by ball to reach max. height is 5 sec.
The ball takes the same time to reach ground
so, total time taken=5 sec+5 sec. =10 seconds.
