Test tube A contains NaOH.

When NaCO3 is adeed to the NaOH, the following reaction takes place:

NaOH+Na2CO3 ---->No reaction.

This is because Bothe the bases contains Na+ ions.

Test tube B contains HCl.

When NaCO3 is added to HCl the following reaction takes places:

2HCl+Na2CO3------>NaCl+CO2+H2O.
