For biology, NCERT is important to understand the basic concepts as NCERT covers the whole syllabus of the CBSE board exam. Apart from NCERT-

• You can choose S. Chand to get a deeper knowledge of a particular topic but else it is not needed as NCERT is enough.
• Solve more chapter-wise questions through a good question bank like Educart that provides chapter-wise topic notes with case-based examples, all questions from the past 10 years, new types of questions like assertion-based and important NCERT questions, all this in the same book. So it is easy to practice all types of questions at the same time with this book.
• You can go for NCERT Exemplar as it contains more conceptual questions than NCERT.
• Solve atleast 6-8 sample papers (Together with or Educart) as they help in knowing the weak areas and they also help in learning the latest paper pattern of the board exam.
