If the key is closed:

Effective Resistance = Parallel Combination1 + Parallel Combination2 + 7ohm

4*5/4+5= 20/9

3*6/3+6 = 18/9 = 2

2.23 + 7 + 2 = 11.23 ohms.

Answer:

¹⁰¹/₉ Ω is the correct answer.

Explanation:

First finding the equivalent resistance in 1st Parallel Circuit.

⇒ R (eq.) = [R₁R₂] ÷ [R₁ + R₂]

               = [4 × 5] ÷ [4 + 5]

               = ²⁰/₉ Ω

Resistance in Series = 7 Ω

Finding the equivalent resistance in 2nd Parallel Circuit.

⇒ R (eq.) = [R₁R₂] ÷ [R₁ + R₂]

               = [3 × 6] ÷ [3 + 6]

               = 2 Ω

∴ Total Resistance = ²⁰/₉ Ω + 7 Ω + 2 Ω

                                = ²⁰/₉ Ω + ⁶³/₉ Ω + ¹⁸/₉ Ω

                                = ¹⁰¹/₉ Ω                           ←ANSWER
