1. Chlorophyll becomes less since it is in dark room and there is a absence of sunlight. In the absence of sunlight, the production of chlorophyll stops and they get break down slowly. This changes the colour of the leaf gradually to light green. During this process, xanthophyll and carotenoid pigments become predominant, causing the leaf to become yellow.

2.The insectivorous plants grow in soil which do not contain sufficient nitrogen mineral. These plants (e.g. pitcher plant) are green and carry out photosynthesis to obtain a part of the food required by them. ... So, insectivorous or carnivorous plants feed on insects to obtain the nitrogen needed for their growth

3.Because the rhizobium bacteria present in the roots of the leguminous plants converts the atmospheric nitrogen into a soluble nitrogeneous compound and thus restores the nitrogen content of the soil.
