Step-by-step explanation:
(1) x/3 + x/2 = 5
take LCM of denominator we get = 6
2x + 3x/6 = 5
5x = 30
x = 6
(2) -6p - 9/3 = 2p + 9/5
cross multiply we get,
-30p - 45 = 6p + 27
-36p = 72
p = -2
(3) 3y - 5 / 5 - 2y + 10 = y - 1/2
3y - 5/5 - 2y = y - 1/2
cross multiply we get
6y - 10 = 5y - 5 - 2y^2 - 2y
6y - 10 = 3y - 5 - 2y^2
2y^2 + 3y - 5 = 0
2y^2 - 2y + 5y - 5 = 0
2y (y- 1) + 5 (y - 1) = 0
(y-1) (2y+5) = 0
y = 1, -5/2
hope it helps.
