when injury takes place it stimulates the platelets in the blood to release coagulation promoting substances called endothromboplastin.tissue at the site of injury also release endothromboplastin and these thromboplastin help in the formation of enzyme complex thrombokinase. Thrombokinase converts prothrombin into thrombin with the help of Ca2+.thrombin converts fibrinogen into fibrin and fibrin forms network of threads which traps dead and damaged formed elements of blood to form blood clot.
