Answer:

(ii)1/6 (i) 12

Step-by-step explanation:

(ii)Given,

kx (x-2)+6=0

or kx^2-2kx+6=0

let k=a,   -2=b,   6=c

Given Roots are real and equal

Hence,

(b^2 – 4ac) must be equal to zero.

4-4.k.6=0.

4-24k=0

24k=4

k=4/24

=1/6(ans)

(i)Given,

3y^2 +ky+12=0

let 3=a,  k=b,  12=c

Given Roots are real and equal

(b^2 – 4ac) must be equal to zero.

k^2 -4.3.12=0

k^2-144=0

k^2=144

k=√144

=12 (ans)
