Appearances are deceptive.
Uday and Aadi both were two little boys aged 13 and 12. They were sorrily dressed. The very first time when the author met them, they were selling wild strawberries but after that they were seen shining shoes, arranging seats for opera, showing visitors through the town and so on. Nobody could expect such hard work from two little boys of their age. They always wore shabby clothes and ate black bread and figs. Looking at the amount of earning, they could have taken a much better meal and clothes. No doubt, they earned quite a lot but had to make payments for the hospital bills of their sister so they never spent anything on themselves.
I hope this helps you

a 'appearances are deceptive'.it is much true in case of two boys but in positive sense.in spite of their appearance, the narrator bought fruits from them.in the following, days the narrator discovered that the boys did a lot of other things apart from selling strawberries they did lot of work .all this made the narrator think that the boys were working so hard to save money to emigrate to america .however ,it is revealed during the course of story that their only motive was to be able to pay for their sister 'treatment .war has destroyedc most of their family and yet it had notfilked them with despair.the boys were working day and night to save whatever was left.behind their shabby appearance s were hidden two noble souls whose dedication and selflessness promises a new hope for mankind.
b the boys loves their sister .she was the only family left after the war was over .when they realised that their sister had tuverculosis of the spine ,they got her admitted to the hospital for the treatment of disease .the ultimate mission of the boys life was the welfare of their sister lucia .day and night they star ed only to provide medical expenses for lucia .this couldnot have been done without their will ,determination and hardwork.
7 c both nicola and jacopo show selflessness and reflect great dignity in their behaviour .they are deeply devoted to save their sister.in their earnestendeavour they become role model, epitome of sacrifice who can enlighten the path for rest of the humanity to follow.
