when car is accelerating it's speed is increasing and when retarding it's speed is decreasing. Both are opposite of each other

2.a physical quantity are of 2 types - I. scalar 2.vector. so as we know that speed have magnitude only, it is a scalar quantity and velocity has both magnitude and direction, it is a vector quantity.
b. Next, we know that magnitude in case of speed can be positive or zero but in case of velocity, magnitude can be positive, negative or zero
3. an accelerated car is that which is undergoing increase in the difference of their velocity. but retarding is going decrease in velocity( difference). Both are in non-uniform motion /velocity
